Who we are
We built Orchid for brands that are done settling.
Most manufacturers are built for volume. We built Orchid for partnership. The brands we work with have a story we know well — they found a manufacturer, the samples were perfect, the relationship felt promising, and then the order arrived wrong. Wrong finish, wrong sizing, two weeks late. The whole season suffered for it. Or they found a factory with the right capabilities but minimum orders built for brands ten times their size, leaving them to either overcommit or walk away entirely.
We built Orchid because neither of those outcomes is acceptable. Every fashion brand — whether launching their first collection or scaling to global markets — deserves a manufacturing partner that treats their vision with the same seriousness they do. That is not a marketing line. That is the reason this company exists, and it is the principle that has guided every decision we have made since 2005.
Our story
Orchid Shoes was founded by Baba B Salunkhe — a third-generation shoemaker whose family has been in the craft long before manufacturing was industrialised. He started with a focused production unit in Thane and a clear conviction: that the values of quality and workmanship his family had practised for generations could be the foundation of a manufacturing company built for the next generation of fashion brands.
Today Orchid is led alongside his son Siddhant Salunkhe — bringing together decades of inherited craft knowledge with a new generation's vision for building a globally relevant manufacturing business.
What began as a focused operation has grown into a 42,000 sq. ft. facility producing 2,500 pairs a day, with the capacity to scale to 6,000. Trusted by Metro Shoes, Mochi, Regal, Lemon and Pepper, Woodland, and Reliance.
The thing that has never changed since day one — every client, every order, every delivery matters here. Not because we say it. Because the people who built this company built it that way.

A third-generation shoemaker, Baba B Salunkhe founded Orchid in 2005 with the belief that quality and workmanship should never depend on order size. He leads the company's R & D – the heart of the product.

Our manufacturing facility in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra is designed for flexibility without sacrificing scale. Every system, every workstation, every quality checkpoint exists to answer one question — will this pair represent the brand it was made for?
In-house sole and footbed production gives us full control over quality, cost, and development speed. ERP-managed material planning and inventory ensures nothing falls through the cracks. A skilled production team with dedicated floor managers and quality supervisors at every stage ensures that what leaves our facility matches what was approved at sampling — every single time.
